The Apprentice Academy was established to fill a gap for individuals by providing them with opportunities for Career Awareness and Exploration, Career Technical Training and Development and, ultimately, connections with prospective employers in the community.  The Academy, along with Vincennes University and other partners, provides relevant work-based training for Vincennes University credit.  The Apprentice Academy is 501c(3) not for profit, business-driven organization working in partnership with primary, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions in the community, as well as with many other community organizations and projects. The Academy is taking the lead to engage business and community leaders in our process and facilitate the connection between the business community, the educational communities, government officials from all levels, and community leaders.

As we see the large corporations that employed our parents and grandparents moving away or disappearing altogether, smaller businesses need to be able compete successfully in a global economy.  This has caused a shift in the way companies need their employees trained: hands-on, intensive and work-relevant.  This is where The Apprentice Academy can help: We will provide training for a variety of different careers, regardless of prior educational backgrounds, with or without a degree as a final goal.  Our training is in-depth and hands-on, with a focus on developing exactly the skills needed to excel in today’s workplace.  We believe that each student who attends The Apprentice Academy gains a solid skill set that will allow them to build a successful career.  Our dedicated faculty and staff help each student develop a resume and portfolio containing their certificates.

The keys to The Apprentice Academy's success include: our industry-driven training programs, our focus on providing programs to meet community and industry needs and demands, providing industry qualified and experienced instructors and making sure our programs are flexible in terms of scheduling and location.
